Hub Internet Media – The Beginning

I’d like to take a few blog posts to explain just how and why Hub Internet Media came to be.  I think you guys would really enjoy reading how we came about, and the initial difficulties we faced.  Maybe this will even inspire a few readers to start their own businesses up!

Last year I became increasingly frustrated at the quality of web design available to smaller businesses primarily.  Although it quickly became apparent that the same problems extent to medium sized companies.  But firstly the idea was to combat this ‘gap’ in the market if you will.

I knew Jon back from college leading into University.  I knew he was looking around for a direction in his life, something to put his skills to use on.  So I decided to approach him and 0ffer him a place in a brand spanking new web design company run by yours truly.  He practically broke my hand off, see he had exactly the same ideas as me.  I’m not even kidding here, to say we were singing off the same hymn sheet was an understatement.  So the team was built, but we needed a name and structure.  We knew we wanted to offer web design to new/small businesses to begin with but we needed a name!

I’m not going to embarrass us by listing the first names we came up with.  They were pretty horrible cliché web design company names.  After a few hours of heated debate we decided on Hub Internet Media.  What does the name mean?  Well I like the idea of having stories behind company names.  Simply coming up with a few words which sound great together don’t cut it for me, we needed a story.

Essentially we want to be the centre, the middle, the Hub of our clients on line endeavours.  We don’t only want to simply provide a website.  We want to provide the whole service, the complete solution.  The main focus is for us to be able to tackle any and all Internet problems our clients may face.  We also want to provide and service all Media needs clients may have.

Hub Internet Media was born.

As soon as we came up with the name we registered all the domains we would need.  As we are UK based we decided to use the .co.uk version as our main domain, we do however own the .com which should redirect to the .co.uk

So now we need a website……..
