External Environment Services Site Redesign

This morning I want to talk about the recent redesign we completed for External Environment Services.
In the example of External Environment Services they had a website developed way back in 2005. At the time the website was more than good enough to convey their message across the Internet. It completed their total business image. But that was back in 2005, times have changed!
We find from speaking with more and more customers that they tend to have websites in place from 2006 and earlier. In every case they at the very least need their sites design updating. Of course that’s the least they can do. Social media and new web standards are now in place which give so many benefits if they are followed.
Ok so follow on for the complete breakdown of the External Environment Services website!
To begin with lets look at the old website before the redesign and talk about the problems.
Below you can see all the pages of the orginal website, click on them to view full size.
From just looking at the website you can see its been in place for sometime, as the design is very static and not that attractive on the eye. Before I continue this breakdown we will mostly focus on the visual design aspects rather than the back end SEO (we’ll save that for another post!).
The site features no eye catching content, nothing to make the user stay on the site and see what it has to offer. With the nature of the company the site represents they only needed a minor web presence. Such things as social media would really make little impact on them as a company so we advised against taking that route at this current moment in time. However we did integrate social media links into the footer, which can be used in the future.
Things they needed to focus on:
- Complete site design and layout.
- Animated banner to hold attention (at least on the homepage).
- Update the portfolio, add interaction.
- Dynamic content, we recommended blog integration.
- Update all images.
- Redesign contact page.
We met up with the owner of External Environment Services and went over in depth and detail just what their website required. Once we were given the go ahead this is what we came up with.
External Environment Services New Website!
I’m sure you’ll agree the new website really does capture attention and bring the design of the website right bang up to 2010 design standards. Again I must stress this was a redesign, all the content remained the same.
